I caught you looking away, when you saw she was calling I caught you looking away, when you saw she was calling, but why call a worry a waste, when it isn’t much different to say; I caught you calling away, when you saw she wasn’t looking your way But you’re reading so many little books about anything at all, don’t you worry so much, don’t you worry much, anymore? When will the sun go down, so you can justify sleeping, When will the sun go down, so you can justify sleeping, when did it say it’s going down, the last time you checked it out; when will the sun go down? But you’re reading so many little books about anything at all, don’t you worry so much, don’t you worry much, anymore? I caught you looking at the waves, anyways, don’t you ever worry they might take you away? but I don’t mind laying awake no, with my eyes to the light and light to the brain eyes to the light and light to the brain, eyes to the light and light to the brain eyes to the light

Any Day Now I won’t care so much about you, Any day now I won’t mind what you do, and in a moment I won’t mind at all but tonight (I’ll Keep wondering) like I do Someday I won’t mind if she makes you laugh more than I do I know this feeling won’t last it’s going to be gone in a flash but tonight (I’ll Keep wondering) like I do We used to dance alone on the kitchen floor with every spin and dip I’d fall just a little more and in a moment I’m scared I might just forget what it means to have no regrets for now
3.
I don’t know about flying a jet plane and if I did you would know by the flames how I can crash a burn through the sound of a radio controller screaming don’t go, don’t go yet not quite yet I’ve crashed a car going twelve and a half K fast that’s all I need to wreck a moment that should last and watch her walk away seven paces, yes to turn a corner away with a pirouette oh my my, this time I’ll be fine just not quite yet If I’m at work then I’ll have to wait to watch you leave without a clue of which airport your flight would be but as it happens I’ve been counting ships floating by I saw written in the rust of one -Ike, Goodbye Oh my my, this time I’ll be fine just not quite yet If I didn’t know, if I didn’t know better, I should be waiting on the driveway for a letter addressed to me and where nothing else resides an empty envelope with a nod and a wink inside Oh my my, this time I’ll be fine just not quite yet
4.
When I was young my mom told me, about the time when her mom, watered the statue in the garden to watch it grow And I laughed when I was young, just because I was young, never been anything else. She keeps helium by the stairs for when she goes she's going to go laughing she keeps helium by the stairs for when she goes she'll go high pitched and laughing my old man used to talk about the time that would come when he gets too old to stoke the fire just to watch it go out and if we laughed when we were young it's just because we were young and never seen anything else and I get it if you're scared but for a while at least you won't be going anywhere, and if time whispers on so slow, you can meet me at the station for the last train to go home
5.
If you've got a way with words tell me to walk home alone if the thought overshadows it all then I'll go yes I'll and I'll go If you feel the need to shatter it all don't just sit this one out no no if you've got something to say to me let it out, let it out, let it out I've seen you put the brush to canvas we'll pencil to paper at least now close your eyes and stumble see if what you drew looks nothing like me if you've got a way with words if you've got something to talk about if you got a if you got a way you want this to transpire let me know what were you working on all night what were you making on your own if you drew for me direction without distractions would they take me back home
6.
It starts with a dream, because you only visit me when I’m asleep, and it ends with a dream unfortunately, of you laying right next to me, why does it seem, you only visit me when I’m asleep, it’s just a silly dream but you only visit me when I’m asleep, (and that’s why) I won’t listen when you say, to me, so softly, forget about me forget about me please I heard a voice as it’s calling as it’s calling me, like a knife through the noise, I’ve never been so sure I’m where I supposed to be Then why does it seem, this only happens now when I’m asleep, It’s just a silly dream, I mean, obviously (and that’s why) I won’t listen when you say, to me, so softly, forget about me forget about me please forget about me
7.
Good things happen slowly, and bad things all at once, when you see for the first time, the frame left bare and narrow, plaster gone, holed up and nestled up in a line, when you come kicking face to face with your home in an earth quake, and the wind whipping through your hair, learn how it's built in the first place,
8.
If you go, If you go, If you go, Please don’t tell me so, If you go, If you go, If you go, Please don’t let me know I had a Beau [girl] and life was so fine (but I) couldn’t tell if [s]he was coming, or going or stuck on the line every morning I’d wake up waiting for news that you had gone and when it comes it goes and it sounds all wrong CHORUS Apartment is empty except for your face in a dusty framed portrait of us on the fireplace if I’d gotten one word from you one last goodbye I’d have to pack it up and be left to wonder why so CHORUS it wasn’t December or mostly the fall but shorter days mean shorter lives and less time for the long haul so if you’re going and if you don’t mind slipping quietly out the back door keeping me deaf, dumb and blind,
9.
And I'll Sit and I sit and Wonder, why it hurts, why it hurts me so and I sit and wonder, why it hurts, why it hurts to be alone
